Each month has a theme and April’s is Fresh Spring Beauty.

Here is a look at the five items plus the bag (the two masks were considered one item).

I adore the bag this month! It is so adorable with the lemon pattern.

Item 1: Tarte – Double Duty Beauty Base Tape Hydrating Primer – This hydrating primer is made to moisturize and smooth your skin for 12 hours. It is vegan and cruelty-free.

Item 2: Laura Sanchez – Moods Eyeshadow in Rose Gold Woman – We received a full palette from Laura Sanchez in our Glam Bag Plus and my teens love these shades (see here: https://esoterictartan.com/2019/04/13/ipsy-glam-bag-plus-review-1/).

Item 3: Sugar Cosmetics – Kohl of Honour INtense Kajal in Black Out – This is a nice eyeliner that goes on smoothly. It is transfer-resistant , smudge-proof, & waterproof.

Item 4: Billion Dollar Brushes – Fan Brush – This brush has “charcoal-infused bristles with antimicrobial powers.” The brush is super soft.

Item 5 (Part 1 of 2): Huangjisoo – Broccoli Plumping Mask – I’ve not had a chance to try these vegan masks. This mask is packed with vitamin C, beta carotene, and broccoli extracts for plumping and hydrating the skin.

Item 5 (Part 1 of 2): Huangjisoo – Red Fruits Brightening Mask – This vegan mask is made with acerola and redlove apple to brighten and even out dull skin.

My kids and I still love the Ipsy bags. We have the Ipsy profile geared more towards what they love with the more adventurous make-up and colors.

Ipsy has their own app so you can preview the items you are going to receive and purchase items directly from the app. They also offer a points system to earn free sample size products. You can earn points by reviewing your items every month and also earn points for referrals. They have products for purchase on their website as well. points for referrals. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $10 (plus tax) per month. You will receive five travel-size items and a makeup bag that is exclusive to Ipsy. The products can be anything beauty related such as perfume, hair care products, and make up.

The bag is a super cute rose gold color with a dark blue zipper.

For one day, the 2nd of every month, Ipsy offers add-ons. A sample size product is $3.00 and a full-size product is $12.00. We did two add-ons in this bag. Our bag had a mistake and we got an extra brush instead of the Ahava mud mask sample that I ordered. I have reached out to Ipsy to have my mud mask sent and to see how to return the extra brush. I will update this post once I have the resolution.

UPDATE: I emailed Ipsy customer service and they emailed back quickly are have already shipped a replacement! They told me to keep the 2nd brush which is very kind of them.

All products in this bag are from female-founded brands and “girl boss staples.”

Ipsy recently redid their beauty quiz and have a giveaway this month.

Item 1: Ofra Cosmetics – Star Island Highlighter – This is a beautiful highlighter. This is large enough that it doesn’t seem like a sample size. It is infused with pearl pigments. https://amzn.to/2YiEUR0

My teen loves highlighters so she was excited about this. Made in the USA.

Item 2: Answer From – Luminous Collagen Eye Cream – This has a nice clean scent and goes on smoothly. It is not greasy.

This container is tiny but it doesn’t take much to put this one. Made in Korea.

Item 3: Tarte – Maneater Voluptuous Mascara – I love Tarte products and this is no exception. Their products are made with “good-for-you” ingredients. https://amzn.to/2Ok0kIM

They are a cruelty-free brand.

Item 4: Jolii Cosmetics – Luxe Creme Matte in Lavanda – This is a matte liquid “lippie.” https://amzn.to/2UQQTmr

I was impressed with this color. It was really pretty and wasn’t as bright on as I thought it would be. It was really smooth as well (made with a blend of shea butter & jojoba oil).

This product is vegan and cruelty-free. Made in China.

Item 5: Slmissglam – SS62 Short Shader Brush – This brush is beautiful! They sent me two by accident so I haven’t opened the 2nd one since I’m waiting to hear if they want me to send it back. UPDATE: I emailed Ipsy customer service and they emailed back quickly are have already shipped a replacement! They told me to keep the 2nd brush which is very kind of them.

My teen loves brushes and this one has beautiful detailing. It is a synthetic brush that is created by YouTuber and beauty guru Stephanie Lewis.

Item 6: Add-on Item – MISSING – Ahave Mud Mask – $3.00 – Ipsy accidently sent me a 2nd brush instead of the mask. I have reached out to customer service to get this corrected. UPDATE: I emailed Ipsy customer service and they emailed back quickly are have already shipped a replacement! They told me to keep the 2nd brush which is very kind of them.

Item 7: Add-on Item – Huda Beauty – Eyeshadow Palette in Smokey Obsessions – $12.00 – This palette is tiny but my teen LOVES the colors in it. Her friends loved it as well. There were three different palettes to choose from and we chose “smokey eye.” https://amzn.to/2UR7lDl

I do not wear much makeup but I could tell these were nice shadows.

My kids and I have been getting the Ipsy bags for a year now and absolutely love them! This is the first time there has been an error on my bag and I’m confident it will be resolved quickly. Ipsy Review #1 @ipsy #ipsy

My kids and I have been receiving the Ipsy bag since April of last year. This is the first time I’m writing a review of this service.

Ipsy was our first ever subscription that we decided to try out because it is only $10 a month.  My teenagers love makeup and I thought I would get some good out of the hair care products.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that comes with five travel-size items. Each month you also receive a new themed bag that is exclusive to Ipsy. The products can be anything beauty related such as perfume, hair care products, and make up.

You start off with a beauty quiz (AKA: your beauty profile) and tell them your hair color, eye color, and skin tone. You also get to tell them how comfortable you are with makeup, what colors you like, any brands you prefer, what products/scents you’re interested in, etc.

I have teenagers so everything definitely gets put to use. Since my teens and I have different tastes in what we like, we change up our beauty profile often to get different items.

This is a great way to try new products and discover things that you wouldn’t normally buy.

Personally, I don’t wear makeup except for mascara and discovered my absolutely favorite mascara from one of these bags (Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara).

There is a theme every month and February’s theme is “Swoon So Hard.”

Here is a look at the five items that came in our bag this month. This is our first time getting a perfume because I changed our beauty profile to try it out.

Item 1: Eyeko – Lash Alert Mascara.

Item 2: Ciate London – Glow-to Highlighter in Moondust

Item 3: Kokie Cosmetics – Be Bright Illuminating Concealer in Light

Item 4: Kensie – Life Beat Eau de Parfum

Item 5: Thebalm – Alternative Rock Vol. 1 Eyeshadow in Take it for Granite

You can also choose add-ons every month if you like certain products. Ipsy offers lots of specials like discounts and cash back. The add-ons will be added to your bag at no shipping cost.

I love their billing because it comes out on the 1st of every month. There is no worry about a different bill date.

Ipsy has their own app which makes it perfect for seeing what you are getting and searching their add-ons.

You have the opportunity to review their products they sent you every month and earn points towards free products. You also earn points for any referrals that you have.
