We decided to try out Stitch Fix Kids for my ten-year-old. It is a monthly clothing subscription for kids up to size 14. You can choose to make the account only on demand so you don’t get automatic shipments.
One part of the box tells you the basic premise of Stitch Fix Kids.
Even the actual box is really geared towards kids.
They give kids ideas on how to repurpose the box which my daughter loved.
They send you a prepaid Priority Mail envelope to return any items that you don’t want to keep.
Also included is a set of stickers, a Stitch Fix box challenge postcard, and then information on the items in your box.
They send a stock card with all of your items listed and a message from your stylist.
The order sheet includes everything that they send you and the costs. If you buy everything you receive a 25% discount on the entire”fix.”
Most of the color choices for my child were in grays, blues, and greens. She told them she liked classic styles and loved blue and green.
Item 1: SeaVees – Legend Twill Sneaker – size 3Y – $44.00 – My daughter loved these! The insoles were very squishy with memory foam. They have a very light camo pattern.
Her toe was right at the end so I needed to go up on size. Stitch Fix will let you exchange items for size which is awesome. We did not go ahead and keep these just due to the cost for a simple shoe.
Item 2: Threads 4 Thoughts – Shellie Cross Back Tee in Grey – size 12 – $22.00 – They put several items of this brand in our box and I will say it is quality made. The material just clung though instead of laying.
The back detail is super cute without being over-the-top. She is wearing a gray tank top underneath the shirt. We ended up not keeping this item.
Item 3: Threads 4 Thought – The Essentials Fleece Pullover Hoodie in Grey – size 12 – $24.00 – This was really well made and had a nice heathering to it. My daughter loved that it had the front pocket.
She thought it was very soft. There are no drawstrings for the hood. We are keeping this item.
Item 4: Threads 4 Thoughts – Leannie Crossover Pullover in Blue – size 12 – $26.00 – I cannot begin to explain how soft this was! If this would have been in my size, I would have kept it in a heartbeat! My daughter was not a fan of the detailing on the bottom and the sleeve length so we did not keep it.
Item 5: Threads 4 Thoughts – Essentials Zip Fleece Hoodie in Light Green – size 12 -$24.00 – This zip hoodie also had a really good heathering throughout. It ran a little big which is good with a hoodie. My daughter loved it and we are keeping this one for sure.
Item 6: Threads 4 Thoughts – Hazelle Long Sleeve Knit in Turquoise – size 12 – $26.00 – Again, I cannot even begin to describe how soft this is. The softness alone made me want one for myself! There are thumb holes which my kid loves and was happy about.
She was not a fan of the detailing on the back of the shirt. She is wearing this over a gray tank top. We are not keeping this item.
Item 7: Nine One Eight – Cymran Long Sleeve Pocket Tee in Grey – size M – $14.00 – This top is super cute and has between a 3/4 & full length sleeve. It is a super soft material but it made it cling to the body so we did not keep it. I would probably go a size up in this if we kept it.
Item 8: Nine One Eight – Trine Lattice Shoulder Top in Light Blue – size M – $14.00 – This top is super cute but is made slender throughout the body. The detailing at the shoulder is very nice. Again, the material made it cling but was also super soft. We are not keeping this item but if we did, I would go a size up.
Item 9: Rumi + Ryder – Nora Ruched Ankle Legging in Navy – size L – $12.00 – These were cute but ran small. Normally leggings have more give in size but these had very little room for give. You can’t see it very well in the picture but the top of them just didn’t stay in place very well because they were too small.
There is super cute ruching at the bottom of these leggings. We did not keep these but again, if we did I would go a size up.
Item 10: Habitual – Merida Distressed Skinny Jeans in Indigo – size 12 – $28.00 – The jeans fit my daughter well. She said they were a little itchy though.
Since we are in February, I didn’t want to buy a pair of jeans that she could grow out of before next winter so we did not purchase these.
All in all, Stitch fix did a good job picking out stuff for my kid. We probably would have kept more except for the cost.
When you go to check out online, you get to review every piece and tell them what you think about the fit, the style, the price, etc. You can leave feedback on each individual item which is nice so you can tell them what were the parts that you liked or did not like.
You pay a $20 styling fee up front and anything you keep, that $20 will get deducted from your total.
If this is a service that you think you would like to try, use the link below and we will each get $25 in credit.
