My kids and I have been receiving the Ipsy bag since April of last year. This is the first time I’m writing a review of this service.

Ipsy was our first ever subscription that we decided to try out because it is only $10 a month.  My teenagers love makeup and I thought I would get some good out of the hair care products.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that comes with five travel-size items. Each month you also receive a new themed bag that is exclusive to Ipsy. The products can be anything beauty related such as perfume, hair care products, and make up.

You start off with a beauty quiz (AKA: your beauty profile) and tell them your hair color, eye color, and skin tone. You also get to tell them how comfortable you are with makeup, what colors you like, any brands you prefer, what products/scents you’re interested in, etc.

I have teenagers so everything definitely gets put to use. Since my teens and I have different tastes in what we like, we change up our beauty profile often to get different items.

This is a great way to try new products and discover things that you wouldn’t normally buy.

Personally, I don’t wear makeup except for mascara and discovered my absolutely favorite mascara from one of these bags (Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara).

There is a theme every month and February’s theme is “Swoon So Hard.”

Here is a look at the five items that came in our bag this month. This is our first time getting a perfume because I changed our beauty profile to try it out.

Item 1: Eyeko – Lash Alert Mascara.

Item 2: Ciate London – Glow-to Highlighter in Moondust

Item 3: Kokie Cosmetics – Be Bright Illuminating Concealer in Light

Item 4: Kensie – Life Beat Eau de Parfum

Item 5: Thebalm – Alternative Rock Vol. 1 Eyeshadow in Take it for Granite

You can also choose add-ons every month if you like certain products. Ipsy offers lots of specials like discounts and cash back. The add-ons will be added to your bag at no shipping cost.

I love their billing because it comes out on the 1st of every month. There is no worry about a different bill date.

Ipsy has their own app which makes it perfect for seeing what you are getting and searching their add-ons.

You have the opportunity to review their products they sent you every month and earn points towards free products. You also earn points for any referrals that you have.
